In a picture, why I'm implementing my "Plan B" scenario in case the shit really hits the fan here. Over half of Republican state wide and federal candidates believe Trump really won the 2020 election and should have been made a President a second time despite the vote. The state legislature candidates are even more depressingly anti-democracy in many cases. This election denialism isn't just the 2020 election either. It is every time they lose a referendum, primary, etc even by double digit margins. You can't have a functioning democracy when one of the two sides believes the only legitimate results are when they win. Sad way for the American Democratic Experiment, as flawed as it always was, to end. But here we are. I may never *need* to live abroad to escape this shit. Perhaps we "only" get as bad as Hungary. I'm not rolling the dice on waiting to figure that out though. #democracy #uspoli www.washingtonpost.com/nation/…
I could have written more about why I am terrified of the Republican party right now but it is actually somewhat secondary to the anti-democracy stuff at present. None of it is good of course. But still I wanted to make this social media post sized not blog post sized.
