@sojournTime I can definitely see these points in reading most of Civilization so far. I've not read anything else by him, but I really like how entertaining he presents history in general. Kind of tongue in cheek and very to the point. Btw, I saw your other, longer message, and got so excited! It's been a while since this kind of discussion has taken place in my online life, which is cool. We used to debate things in the 90's!
