I was thinking that the fediverse needs to offer 'Mastodon' servers written in other languages, eg #rust, but it turns out I just needed to learn more. What I found is that there are ActivityPub servers written in a wide variety of languages. What I'm on a quest for now is the absolute lowest cost server to maintain, eg. server less, like on cloudevents, google cloudfunctions, or AWS lambda? That way maintainers wouldn't have to pay for running a server when it's idle.
