this is pretty much the response to the GDPR evidently rendering cookie-based ad tracking untenable. google are doing what they can to stay afloat, but since this service is even easier to opt out of (unless they stop serving other browsers, which opens another can of anti-trust worms), i think their core business model is a walking corpse and that will affect all services they offer.

long term prognosis: the google as we know it is going to die and only to continue existing in name, and its web0 replacement can not come soon enough.
