Sure, he’s a rapist and a fraud. But let’s not forget about the years of money-laundering for the Russian mob. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/deutsche-bank-employees-reportedly-flagged-suspicious-transactions-involving-trump-kushner-n1007501
Taylor Swift also told young people to register to vote, and thousands of them did.
@dangillmor
I dunno. I just keep coming back to these words...
"If you’re still on Twitter/X does that mean you’re a fascist?
No, of course not.
It just means fascism isn’t a deal breaker for you."

@dangillmor
Absolutely right. Some excuses for giving money to Nazis are less awful than others, but they are all awful. Nobody is innocent; we have all seen this movie before, in what is still living memory for some people.
This is exactly what social media would have looked like in 1930s Germany. Twitter is an overtly Nazi platform run by an open Nazi for the purposes of promoting fascism and doxxing, suppressing, and terrorizing those who fight for freedom.

New Yorker review of Musk hagiography says Twitter "has American journalism in a choke hold."

Journalists are choking themselves. It is their decision. Musk must chortle every day as he watches journalists bend over to support his business.
They could leave, and take their audiences with them, if they wanted to. They don't.
They're doing this to themselves. Inertia, amoral calculation, and timidity are weapons of self-destruction.
Today the Post chose to make its top story a garbage poll about Joe Biden. It’s obsessed with polls and horse-race election coverage, even though the horses are still in the paddock (?). Or in the barn, eating oats.
They also have a strange article about Mark Milley and how “divisive” or “polarizing” he was. The article linked to a previous story from the same author about the USA’s “treacherous” withdrawal from Afghanistan, which was not labeled as opinion or even analysis.
I’m taking advantage of the Post’s teaser rate. The rate goes way up next year. 😕
Raw Story:
'Ratings aren't worth our democracy': Legal experts trash Meet the Press' Trump interview
"Other than the occasional fatal admission, with respect to his criminal cases, there is no public interest in putting this man on television. The lies and distortions are nearly constant. Media who give him a platform are failing the public," said Herman F. Selvin Professor of Law at UC Berkeley Jonah B. Gelbach.

I meant “horse-race crap”, not “horse crap”, but I’m unable to edit the post 🤷♂️.
“horse crap” works, though 😂.
I’m about to learn the weaknesses of the Post/strengths of the Times. I subscribed to the Post and dropped my Times subscription.
That’s right. They ran out of diners in Ohio.
The Washington Post prints much less of this garbage. They’re offering a teaser rate of $40/year for an all-access digital subscription:

Drew Barrymore will not resume production of her talk show after facing an outcry of opposition from striking Hollywood writers and her fellow actors. NBC News has more on her reversal: https://flip.it/VRJwcc

Wartime Pope Pius XII knew details about the Nazi attempt to exterminate Jews in the Holocaust as early as 1942, according to a letter found in the Vatican archives that conflicts with the Holy See's official position at the time that the information it had was vague and unverified.

Enough already! So tired of these stories about Dem voters wanting a younger candidate. The reality check:
“Any discussion of an alternative is little more than a fantasy, they say, since challenging Mr. Biden would not only appear disloyal but would also most likely fail — and potentially weaken the president’s general-election standing.”
