Pinephone musing

The Pinephone doesn't really have a way to get push nofitifications when the phone is sleeping other than SMS. It can sleep and calls and SMS will wake it up but anything else would require it to stay awake basically and hurts battery life. Maybe scheduling an periodic wake up to check for messages and then go back to sleep could work.

@kelbot I don't know what most distros have done but I wrote my own "deep sleep" scripts and have the phone wake up every 5 minutes to check for things other than sms (like email and discord.)
The battery drains a little faster in sleep and it's not quite push notifications but it's much better than nothing. Supposedly the WiFi card is connected so that it can wake the application processor up on packets but the driver doesn't have support for it right now (Just what I've been told.)
