nope. gonna close these tabs. i don't need to waste time reading about how to build a desktop synthesizer out of atmega chips with firmware that simulate SIDs :blobcatgoogly:
@purple i looked in to these some while back. swan sid is like, you have to flash a little atmega chip but then it tries to emulate the original SID pin-identically. i dunno how the sounds compare.

my only interaction with SIDs is that LMMS has a thing based on them and i never understood how to use it.

@icedquinn@blob.cat i posted a few stereo rips from the swinsid x2. sounds excellent imo

anyway i was hoping for source code. oh well :( thanks tho!

@purple http://www.swinkels.tvtom.pl/swinsid/ its just on the page :blobcatdunno:

although they wrote it in assembly so there isn't much to look at

@icedquinn@blob.cat its in assembly for a version that can't be built any more. also i don't speak avr asm (big yikes from me)

anyway.

@purple i also do not speak smol compute assembly :blobcatderpy2: tis why i suggest the odin
Follow

@icedquinn @purple I've never done AVR but I know pic assembly is super easy (because it's the only way the chips were intended to be programmed.)
