unfortunate neonazi jargon Chinese slang crossover

A colleague just wrote "ok, dropping out, 88" in the company chat and I was very confused for a moment. To the European mind, this guy just said "heil Hitler".

Turns out, in a Chinese context 88 is ASCII slang for 拜拜, "baai baai", goodbye.
