@sotolf@fosstodon.org If you're deleting old things to free up space the way I like to do it is by looking at the output of` du -a | sort -nk1`

This way you see things before they get deleted and it's done by size rather than age.

The board voted unanimously to post the following statement on the FSF website: While our primary mission is freedom for software users, we want to be clear, the FSF board unanimously condemns misogyny, racism, and other bigotry as well as defamation, intimidation, and unfair attacks on free thought and speech.

@epic @freemo @khird I work from home and my girlfriend usually has to drag me outside so I think I'll be ok.

@freemo @pthenq1 @icedquinn @TruthAndFreedom@masthead.social IIRC they even have some vector-like notation for describing this.

@pthenq1 @freemo @icedquinn @TruthAndFreedom@masthead.social Sure but flue vaccines aren't made using completely untested technology.

There were armatures messing around with some of this on themselves a few years ago and all of the professional researchers were coming out and calling them crazy.

@pthenq1I don't think I ever disagreed with this? But I will continue to say that forcing anyone to take *any* drug is unacceptable (except in a hospital if a patient is unconscious and hasn't signed a DNR.) Many countries did that in the 20th century (in the US state I live we only stopped recently) with some pretty horrific results.

This case is particularly alarming because of:
1) the pretty extreme censorship around it and the related ideas
2) the extreme lack of testing
3) the way it has been turned into a political/PR partition (so 1-3 mean there's very little science involved and if there was it would be difficult to even attempt verifying.)
4) the companies manufacturing the drugs are absolved of liability (lawsuits etc.)

@pganssle @freemo Here in the US you have the option of homeschooling your kids.

@khird @freemo I have never had to prove I was vaccinated for anything (and I had all my vaccines as a kid) for any company I've worked for. Requiring drugs in order to be employed is insane.

@0 I don't cross national borders often but IME they're not easy to sneak across.

@pthenq1 @freemo @TruthAndFreedom@masthead.social Maybe the vaccines are a good idea but I'm not convinced they're going to stop the pandemic or the mutations. Otherwise we could have dealt with colds/flues and pneumonia this way.

Do you have a source you want to cite?

RT @eff: When Amazon says to its drivers, “give us your biometrics or you’re fired” – that’s not consent. That’s coercion. t.co/cmm…

one more time for the people in the back.

until end users have un-gated full control over their software, commit access = domination over end users.

3rd party dependencies = giving strangers domination over end users.

#TIL China has a national standard, SM9, on Identity-Based Cryptography. IBC is a cool cryptosystem, there's a math connection between your public key and your name (username, domain name, etc), so everyone can use your name as the public key without any authorities or key servers, nevertheless its traditional form has a huge technical limitation - it requires a Key Generation Center to generate your private keys. "All your key are belong to us!"

There's an RFC draft to include it in TLS, and see how the backdoor is justified... Man-in-the-Middle attacks can be detected by forensic analysis, are you kidding me?

To be fair, the CA PKI system has the same backdoor - in both systems the authorities can pretend to be anyone, if you use the key strictly for signing, not encryption, arguably IBC is not worse than PKI.

But at least a CA leaves an auditable record if you enforce Certificate Transparency requirements. Meanwhile IBC KGC can do the same without leaving a trace. #cryptography
