I just tried to visualize all the transformations and transforming devices and code in the chain from you taking the picture and adding text, to it displaying on my screen.
My mind boggles.
Especially compared with the manual telephone exchanges when I was a child.
We didn't get long-distance automated dialling until the mid-1960s, in England.
