I don't think it's a binary choice between 'leave the forests alone' or 'use all the forest for wood production'. We need to leave some of the forests alone, and use some of them. Wood is a fantastic renewable material and most people use wood products every day. What we need to discuss is how much to leave alone, how to use the rest, and for what.
