I accidentally jabbed my finger with a needle I'd just used to inject one of our dogs his medicine. Should I call my doctor or his doctor? Perhaps it doesn't really matter, we're both old and ill and have been through a lot, we'll probably survive.

@szescstopni probably not a major issue, but if you have a medical advice hotline (like 111 in the UK) call that to report the needle stick injury, and tell them what was in the syringe. You are unlikely to have ingested a significant amount of meds for the dog (and they may be similar to something you are already being prescribed anyway!)

@vfrmedia I picked my finger after I injected him – the syringe was empty, and anyway I didn't depress the plunger :) Just some antiinflammatory substance, if I got anything it would be homeopathic. Oh, wait, homeopathy is pure evil. I pricked my finger with a needle that contained trace amounts of pure evil. Guess I'll need a drink :)
