Three days ago I picked up my car from a local mechanic who was supposed to fix it. Today driving to the village store uphill through deep wet snow I heard a few loud bangs. Really loud, and I was pretty sure I was back to zero cars, as I had been for the past three weeks. I know almost nothing about cars, but when I looked underneath I saw what caused the banging – I lost the rear power shaft (it's still lying somewhere on the road in the snow) and the joint (or whatever you call it, I don't know the terminology) was banging on the underside of the car. I managed to very loudly inch my way a few hundred metres to the nearest house. A mechanic (a different one) lives there. He removed the banging joint and I could go shopping, although driving a 4WD degraded into a 2WD on snowy and muddy rural roads is no fun. But I managed to bring home food and that LoRaWAN sensor I'm supposed to start testing (there are no deliveries to our house at this time of the year– stuff gets left at the village store). How was your afternoon?
@canyakker This was not a bad afternoon. I realized I could solve a problem outside of my area of experience, and I spent more time then I planned outdoors.
