In 1959, police were called to a segregated library when a Black 9-year-old boy trying to check out books refused to leave, after being told the library was not for Black people.

The boy, Ronald McNair, went on to became an astronaut. The library is also now named after him

I sat by an election denier on the airplane and he started poking me in the arm to be emphatic about his views on people stealing ballots secretly and the airplane was full and I couldn’t move anywhere so I started explaining the yellow fever in very great detail, all the way down to telling him about the bloody vomit that looks like coffee grounds and it worked. He stopped talking to me. The moral of this story is you can’t out-weird an academic; our toolset is too vast. #vastearlyamerica

I am not a #trekkie, in the sense I don't do dress-up for it. I do like the series and films (as my bio says TNG over Kirk).
But for the first time I have had to buy some bits, like a badge, and tie pin, and cuff links. Yes, it is to go on a dark suit. It is basically down to the fact my aunt was a bit of a trekkie, and is being cremated in a star trek uniform even. This is going to be a slightly more colourful funeral than most. Almost a shame she is not in a photon torpedo housing. 😢

An ESP32 driving 12V outputs for five indicators, flashing light on the side, beeper, and even an automotive relay to add an authentic "click" when it changes.
The DEFCON level is set based on which of the kids is in the house, based on DHCP from their phones on the WiFi, so it changes before they even walk in the door.
