OMG - I just realized Mastodon has the ability to mute people for predefined periods of time. I've wanted this feature for years. Too often I've muted someone I really like because they're live tweeting an event or something like that, only to forget to unmute them until months later. The ability to mute someone for just a day or two is big for me personally.

, our dogs, want to turn left. The road straight ahead is much longer and they know it.

That one tree with dried leaves is probably not well as apoptosis didn't kick in on time. We''ll see how it survives the winter.

Opposite the highly managed 'Nature" reserve of Stover park, replete with poetry walks, is a thin strip of opportunistic wood/scrub land. It's pitted and, as this is Devon, these are almost always full of rain water. Rain water that has run off the busy road that intersects the "Nature" reserve from the scrub and is full of diesel, petrol and oil.

Its a beautiful place.

If you enjoy someone's post on #Mastodon go ahead and click the star. If someone tells you that's meaningless because there's no #algorithm, ignore them. Sure, boost the post too if you want others to also see the post, but don't think telling someone you like what they posted is somehow unimportant. In real life I don't tell someone, "good job," or "well said," or "I love that," for the sake of some algorithm, I do it because I'm human and they are too. It's fundamental to being truly social.

The #BC government’s #wolf cull continues unabated.

Quote: “Wolves are being killed every winter in British Columbia as part of the government’s caribou recovery program. But the root causes of caribou population declines are humans, not #wolves. The Province needs to address the human-caused disruptions to critical #caribou habitat and stop killing wolves.”

Driving home through the of . My 4WD car is still waiting to be fixed, but the old rear-wheel drive city car can still handle our roads. There's a video on Twitter (twitter.com/szescstopni/status) – don't want to clog up this place.

Save wetlands to save ourselves. #Wetlands have been cast as useless wastelands, but they store more #carbon than forests. In a time of accelerating #ClimateChange experts say we need to take a closer look at wetlands: for their survival, and our own.

Hilarious that, when everyone else is reviewing their infrastructure to make sure it has adequate capacity for Black Friday, Mastodon.ie is reviewing capacity for the Late Late Toy Show commentary.

It's #FungiFriday: the Blue-stain #fungus, Chlorociboria aeruginascens. It stains wood blue, an effect I really like in furniture and carvings.

Vielleicht klappt das ja auch mit einem Bild.

"Imposter syndrome? Lack of confidence? Toxoplasma can help!"
Well, at least if you're a wolf.

Communications study by Meyer et al. shows that infected with Toxoplasma gondii were bolder and a whopping 46 times more likely to be pack leaders.🐺
