Elon Musk and the right love to wax poetic about freedom of speech. All while waging war against journalists that they despise. Apparently, it's not enough just to remove an anti-fascist journalist like me from Twitter, they also had to remove a news outlets that I write for.

An induction stove with a large battery built in! It's the first of what will be many "energy storage enabled" (ESE) appliances. Come listen to a discussion of why this is such a big deal: volts.wtf/p/induction-stoves-w

TIL: There is a cursed color in the Kodak ProPhoto RGB color space which, when converted to sRGB using pre-August-2020-Security-Update Android's image conversion routines, causes an integer overflow and a crash due to a rounding error. Some dude accidentally created an image (flickr.com/photos/gaurav_agraw) which contains the cursed color on a single pixel. I saw this post from @BlackAzizAnansi that Mastodon remains an overwhelmingly white space and I can't refute that, but I'm angry that it is this way. My experience in tech is that there's no shortage of black talent or black voices, there's a shortage of black opportunity and space due to racism. I see that reflected here. I feel like if we want a #blackmastodon then we can't be passive about this, we have to be intentionally inclusive, intentionally anti-racist. It's not enough to just support.

Do you recognize any?

I just want to spread some love for #beetles. Not sure this is the right place, but if you found me, hello! 🪲💚

You're going to hear a lot today about how the surge in atmospheric methane in 2020 and 2021 appears to be tied to a big increase in wetlands emissions -- a strong sign of a possible positive feedback to global warming. Not a good thing.

If you read @sciencemagazine, of course, you would have heard about this 6 months ago!
