"I'm sick of people bashing the obvious utility of NFTs. The ease with which I can look at a person's profile, see their involvement with NFTs, and then identify them as a blood sucking sociopath is revolutionary." - Bad Money

Still Life, #TrichromeParty Experiment, 2023

My most absurd #trichrome to date.

I have been thinking about making trichromes with my new 8x10 camera, but film is expensive and most options are ortho only!

BUT it occurred to me that ra4 paper is panchromatic AND can be developed with B+W chems (though w/low dmax). And it works! (low-res cell phone scans edited and combined in PS).

Happy Monday!! Here's a great photo by Fred O'Hearn. Mr. Bear must have had a rough weekend. So precious.

Mobilizon is a Fediverse platform for organising events. You can find out more from their official website at:

Their official account is:

➡️ @mobilizon

Organisers can create accounts on existing Mobilizon servers, or start their own server. They can then create event info pages where participants can sign up.

Mastodon users can follow Mobilizon accounts to be notified about new events (for example @peppi_guggenheim_live_music is a Mobilizon account in Berlin).

Gen X. Feral and proud of it.

Let's test the reach of #Mastodon ... 😎

I'm looking for an extremely rare 1/48 scale #modelkit #plasticmodel of the #Lockheed #XST aka the #HaveBlue project (development proof of concept for the later F-117A Nighthawk).

It is a #vacuform kit made by #Maintrack under model number #PX401 and looks like this... 😊
Any tips regarding where I can still get one (or a boost) would be highly appreciated!

May you never be the reason why someone who loved to sing, doesn't anymore. Or why someone why dressed so differently now wears standard clothing. Or why someone who always spoke of their dreams so wildly is now silent about them.
When someone has a passion, encourage it.

May you never be the reason for someone giving up on a part of themselves because you were demotivating, non-appreciative, or -even worse- sarcastic about it. Apathy kills passion.

We can be better! Lets be better!

In personal news, I go on trial for slander this summer over a product review I posted on my blog. Wish I could CC John Oliver so that the company, Spartan Mosquito, could get the attention it deserves. #scam #entomology #mosquito #legal #SLAPP #Mississippi

Lynn Conway, electricial engineer and computer scientist, co-architect of the VLSI design revolution, and transgender activist, was born #OTD in 1938.

She invented Dynamic Instruction Scheduling at IBM, but IBM fired her when they learned she was transitioning.

About 2 boxes of 100 year old piano sheet music - slightly musty - former piano teacher in family.

Pass on to someone for posterity or dispose? Any suggestions on who to pass to in North Yorkshire?

I really don't want it.

I am a computational chemist studying biomolecular chemistry and photochemistry. I really enjoy working on problems related to the origins of life and prebiotic chemistry. My most recent research articles focused on the photostability and photochemistry of RNA/DNA building blocks and precursors, electron transfer properties of DNA/RNA, as well as self-repair of DNA lesions. See for example:

Normally I’m sceptical of these things, but I have tested this one and it really works.

Rainforest vibes from Ontario. These LBMs could be Mycena sp., but we didn't attempt a more rigorous identification.
