I was going to write a whole thread on how/why state media labels came about, because the story is really interesting. It ties in to China’s actions in the early pandemic, and to state actors beginning to coordinate on overt propaganda to target democratic audiences even as they banned Western social media platforms in their own countries. (Some of our work informed the early labeling decisions)

But I’m not sure there is a point! Are ppl interested? What impact would explaining it have?

@szczurtorebkowy Kilka lat temu też wybieraliśmy z córką liceum i mam jeden wniosek: omijać szerokim łukiem te wszystkie szkoły "najlepsze w mieście". Wyścig szczurów, mobbing - w najlepszym przypadku. W najgorszym - uzależnienia od prochów i samobójstwa.

Odwiedziliśmy ostatnie technikum. Według rankingów najlepsze w mieście, w pierwszej dziesiątce w kraju.
Vibe starego, przedwojennego gimnazjum, uczniowie opowiadający chyba zostali przeszkoleni, co mają mówić ("wszyscy nauczyciele są fajni i mili") i jeszcze odpytani, przed dopuszczeniem do oprowadzania. I tacy bez życia? Młody określił stwierdził, że byli jak NPC z gry.
Nauczyciele...

Twice now I’ve experienced the fallout of bugs in my coworkers code and when I looked into it the bug was introduced by Copilot.

Think about that for a second.

I’m trying to accept that everyone I talk to at work about these systems (I won’t dignify them by using the term “intelligence”) ignores my warnings and treats me like a fool for refusing to use them, but now I have to clean up the mess others make by trusting these things.

This isn’t sustainable.
