Don’t treat disabled people like infants. Making a piece of toast is just ordinary not inspirational. Praying for us in public is embarrassing and just plain weird. Patting us on the head like a dog is disgusting. Telling us our parents are cursed for having us means that you have no heart. Whatever you think about us, just keep it to yourself and stop babying us.
Felt a weird mixed sensation of productivity and emptiness listening to this valuable, sobering reflection on the end of a hot era in online news as I stacked firewood that needs a year of seasoning before it can 🔥. #mainelife

Poland has been Europe’s fastest-growing market for heat pumps for the last three years, a process further accelerated by the energy crisis resulting from Russia's war in Ukraine.
The country is also now becoming a major manufacturing hub for the devices, writes Alicja Ptak.

There are many different sides to the "Dave Debate"
Should people named Dave exist? Should they have rights? Are they people at all?
I'm not anti-Dave, in fact I am a great supporter of Daves. I just think we need to ask some questions. But if you ask these questions people get so mad.
Shouldn't we at least have a sober reasonable discussion? What's wrong with that?
Holy shit. In less than 24 hours, I have had two apparently earnest white dudes in entirely separate discussions suggest that maybe the best way to deal with Mastodon being a bad experience for many Black people is to have more Black-run instances. To which Black people would presumably move for safety. That is, their solution to white racism is segregation.
Not only is digital ethnic cleansing is one of the fucking goals of a lot of the racist shitheads, but this also makes it the job of Black people to clean up after white racism. Which is itself systemic racism. How about instead, white people take on the responsibility of limiting the ability of other white people to cause racist harm?
Today I learned the word ‘scientist’ was coined in 1834 to describe Mary Somerville, replacing the term ‘man of science’.

Mój pradziadek, w trakcie IIWŚ walczył w armii brytyjskiej i francuskiej.

I would like to share my latest #fossil find. I think it's some sort of Halysitidae, an extinct coral. They lived about 400 million years ago.
Found on a parking lot next to a Lidl.
A gentle reminder that IoT, health tech, and other devices are accessibility devices for many people.

You can only help to create alternatives if you acknowledge that disabled people exist, use tech, and understand privacy.
