The (man-made) environmental disaster in the Doñana Natural Park wetlands that @mcotsar just linked to might appear to be a local, Southern Spanish issue, but make no mistake: Doñana is a vital stop on the migration path of every bird colony in Europe. The repercussions of this will be felt all over the continent.

And, seeing how things are going here in Spain (spoiler: it's grim), international pressure might be the only resource we have.

You can’t make this up: I had kind of an absurd discussion today researching a cybersecurity topic in a data center.
“You can leave your luggage here”
“No sorry, I never leave my luggage with my laptop anywhere”
“But you can’t take it with you - we will watch it”
“But I don’t trust you”
“We don’t trust you either, you have to leave it here”
So I had no choice and left it with them, left after the tour - and a few hours later my mobile phone warns me of an AirTag following me…
