Mastodon, let's see if we can make the things spread here, as I have a story and I would really like to try and make it viral.

1) 1) Ten years ago several major portals in the UK published a made-up story that ruined the lives of several people in Poland.

Alan White (then of Buzzfeed) wrote a great piece (I helped a little) about this: buzzfeed.com/alanwhite/how-a-f

Co roku podczas finału #WOSP przypomina nam się, że dobrze by było gdyby puszka miała szelki. Momentami dzieciakom rąk brakuje do obsługi puszki serduszek i czego tam jeszcze. No i dno trzeba zakleić i wzmocnić, żeby się nie rozleciało.

Tym razem przypomniało się wystarczająco wcześnie i dzięki temu przedstawiam: „WOŚP puszka holder”. xD

The level of water on our is still a bit low, but it's getting better. Unfortunately Vuko, the wetlands protector, is just a small dog and won't be able to do much when draining of those meadows starts in the spring. He's has great teeth, but they don't work on treads of heavy machines.

Zosia seems to like . This miht not be apparent from this picture, but all the other were blurred.

Zosia update: Most of our dogs are OK with Zosia, except for one. Who hates her. We're working on this with patience and kindness, but they both needed some stitches.

Changes in infant mortality:

Honing in on probability of death in the first year of life, we see that for babies born in the year 1900, 15% of babies died in the first year of life.

It first fell below 10% in 1914.
First fell below 5% in 1942.
First fell below 1% in 1991.
And was at 0.7% in 2007.

A thread on life expectancy trends around the world. Because what else is an actuary going to do on vacation? 😉

Of course the data is imperfect. But still interesting.

I looked at:
1. Italy, Cda, France, US
2. Stable mid-east
3. Volatile mid-east
4. Southern Africa
5. Southeast Asia
6. South America (west)
7. Central America
8. Russia/Ukraine/Poland
9. HK/JP/Korea

Trochę mi się chaotycznie po domu baterie walają. Wydrukowałem sobie 2 skrzynki na baterie AA i AAA ;-)

W końcu łatwo widać gdzie są baterie.

Projekt dość udany, choć wymagający klejenia. Trochę inspiracja do zaprojektowania własnego w przyszłości.

Our last car went down. 1.5 km from the house. Oh, well, mud and water. You love them and you hate them when living in a bog.

By denying the right to repair, they're protecting their intellectual property and their constitutional rights to be greedy.

"Earlier this month, Polish hackers known as Dragon Sector accused one of Poland’s largest train makers, Newag, of intentionally bricking its own trains when they’re repaired by third parties. Newag threatened to sue Dragon Sector, but the story exploded as an example of why we deserve the right-to-repair and the company is facing an investigation from the Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection"

Mamy już helikoptery ratownicze 24h na dobę

Dobre wieści dla Poleszuków. LPR Lublin będzie działał 24h na dobę, a nie od 7 do 20 jak dotychczas. #bezpieczenstwo #Medycyna polesie.pol.social/m/Medycyna/

Fucked up #AI bullshit is now appearing *in Google image search results*. Unpicking this mess is going to take years.

So, in the timeline this mall is on, both vapes & videotapes exist concurrently?
