Three days ago I picked up my car from a local mechanic who was supposed to fix it. Today driving to the village store uphill through deep wet snow I heard a few loud bangs. Really loud, and I was pretty sure I was back to zero cars, as I had been for the past three weeks. I know almost nothing about cars, but when I looked underneath I saw what caused the banging – I lost the rear power shaft (it's still lying somewhere on the road in the snow) and the joint (or whatever you call it, I don't know the terminology) was banging on the underside of the car. I managed to very loudly inch my way a few hundred metres to the nearest house. A mechanic (a different one) lives there. He removed the banging joint and I could go shopping, although driving a 4WD degraded into a 2WD on snowy and muddy rural roads is no fun. But I managed to bring home food and that LoRaWAN sensor I'm supposed to start testing (there are no deliveries to our house at this time of the year– stuff gets left at the village store). How was your afternoon?

Amazon displays repair scores in other countries but not in USA
"Americans spend nearly $1,500 on new electronics per household, per year. We could save a combined $40 billion if we could extend our electronics’ lifespans by 50% by repairing them."
Finally I will remember which part of the printer requires which Allen key, and will also see them better in that dark drawer underneath. I think it counts as an #accessibility improvement.

It's like that embarrassing thing where you goto the supermarket and buy a six-pack of large free-range eggs because you want to make a tortilla and when you get home they start hatching and the baby velociraptors eat all the pancetta you were going to add to it and look at you with googly eyes like, "mooom! hungry!" and now you have a kitchen velociraptor infestation who love you

Adolf Hitler miał w swoim gabinecie portret Henry'ego Forda.

Years back I took a bunch of photos of dolls in a museum, and every time I stumble across them I am reminded of how much I love their expressions.
I find it hard to believe that the person who made this one hadn't sat through a long, meandering meeting that should very definitely have been an email.

Trans People in Utah Could Face 6 Months in Jail for Bathroom Use Under New Bill
> "I'm scared for every transgender person,” said the only openly LGBTQ member of the Utah legislature.
If it's such a big deal when people use the "wrong" bathroom (it's not), why don't we just build unisex bathrooms?
