Two Dutch foxes.

In the Netherlands I was surprised to see that the harmful practice of baiting wildlife by photogs is common and that no self-regulation exists in the field. In one spot I saw dozens of photogs crowd around baited foxes showing completely unnatural behavior, with no one raising concern.

I never bait, lure or change the behavior of my subjects. Photogs should disclose this practice in their captions if they do.

I'm currently a PhD candidate in the Neuroscience Graduate Group (NGG) at the University of Pennsylvania. My work sits at the intersection of systems and computational neuroscience, exploring how environmental volatility affects decision-making behavior and its neural correlates.

In addition to collecting and exploring data, I love #scienceCommunication, especially in the forms of #writing and #teaching. Finding creative ways to build a common understanding of concepts brings me so much joy.

Outside of work, I love #hiking, #biking, #yoga, and absolutely anything involving my dog, Moe.
