Saw the most Berkeley interaction while on a dog walk:

Lady had her big robust Husky off leash meandering down a street.

Another lady had her Rottie off leash on the opposite side of the street.

They converged in a small park.

Benson (on a leash) and I approached the park from a distance & hung back. I just knew shenanigans would ensue. 1/

Just saw a BBC headline that reads, "Why do Chinese billionaires keep disappearing?" and my first thought was, "And how can we make this a global trend?"

Only one Polish act has reached the top 50 of the US Billboard album chart. But if you asked Poles who it was, most probably wouldn't know.

The answer is BEHEMOTH!, who hail from a Polish extreme metal scene that has achieved huge international success despite relatively little mainstream attention or state support.

This terrific photo was taken by my grandfather around 1935. It shows my mother and her brother, with a small owl.

They often shared their home with injured wild birds that were being rehabilitated by their father. Mergansers or storks in the bathtub where not unusual.

Those birds that didn't survive were stuffed, used in teaching, and for many years afterwards were on display in the local museum.

I don't know the fate of this owl, but most survived & were released. #bird #birding #owl
