Not my favourite photo, but one of my favourite birds — the Great Spotted Woodpecker!
This is a male one as can be seen by the red patch at the back of his head. Females' heads are completely black.
They have a very cute "kik" type of call.

Weźmy na przykład komiks "The Hooded Menace" z 1951 roku.
In July of 1862, at age 18, Albert D.J. Cashier, wearing male clothes, and presenting as a man, enlisted in the Army, answering President Lincoln's call for soldiers. Even before this, he had already adopted his male name and presentation for many years prior, working at a shoe factory and as a farmhand.
Albert was trained to be an infantryman of the 95th regiment at Camp Fuller and assigned to Company G, where he fought to liberate the Confederate strongholds of Columbus, KY, and Jackson, TN. His regiment was then ordered to become part of the Army of the Tennessee under Gen. Ulysses S. Grant. Under Grant, he fought in at least 40 more battles, including Vicksburg and Spring Hill.
After the war, Albert continued to live and work as a man until declining mental health placed him in a mental institution where his birth sex was discovered and he was forced to wear a dress. He is buried with full military honors in his uniform.

There are people who call all #train stations "stops".
Then there are people who call all passenger stops "stations".
Then there are a few people who actually know that a station and a passenger stop are two distinct terms, and try to use them correctly.
Then there are a few gurus who might actually be able to explain the difference.
PS. I feel a bit disheartened by the fact that my station was degraded to a passenger stop.

My husband had to wait for 6 years to capture this view of #TheNeedles.
Taken as the #moon set at 4.30 am last summer. This shot is only possible a couple of times each year. He almost had it in 2016 but it was slightly too breezy and the telephoto lens couldn't keep in focus.
It causes controversy as some think it's fake, I promise you that it is not. It involved much research, persistence and luck with the weather! It's the cover shot on our 2024 calendar #IsleofWight #photography
Honestly "no one got killed, there was no drone, there was no AI, there was no actual simulation, it was all a role-playing scenario run by someone *not even in the Air Force*" is exactly the pratfall I needed this week, what a clownshow
