I really hate this discourse of how LLM AIs "lie". It's a mathematical model for predicting the most appropriate next word. Because it's a generalised model, its predictions can result in a sentence that isn't "true", if you read it as meaningful language, rather than a statistical model of language.

As I take a walk with the dog near some fields I notice that the ditches are bone dry and farm machinery is kicking up a lot of dust - last few years the Dutch farmers have protested about their ability to release Nitrogen into the atmosphere - but I don't think it'll be long until they come begging to the government when all their farms start failing.

It's hard to sympathise with people bent on destroying their own future.
