“0.5% of Dutch cyclists wear helmets, and that’s really just sport cyclists.
They’ve ultimately decided that it’s far more important to build this culture of everyday cycling, and to build safe streets, instead of requiring people to protect themselves.”
So many holes were drilled yesterday in this Hardox steel! I even broke a drill, but that was my own fault. And @sable welds everything skilfully together. Project is almost done! Few more welds, bit more grinding. 🤍🤎
Hejka, dzisiaj, w niedzielę 27 sierpnia dwa warte uwagi wydarzenia.
O godz.
@threedaymonk @GBU_28 A guy from Norway went to Germany to buy a sports car, were speeding through Denmark on his way back, and lost the car. It made news here.
He was driving 236 km/h in a Lamborghini valued at ~€300k. I had a good laugh when I read that story. Well deserved.

Hornet update: sorry, had to kill one. It was repeatedly trying to fly into me, and if it got tangled in my clothes or hair that would be the end of me.
Still hoping to touch base with someone that has knowledge or experience with small #septic systems and leach fields.
The immediate question is depth of the trenches. Our nonprofit has community members coming today and tomorrow to dig by hand while soil still moist from Hilary.
I’m leaning towards 18-24” & 40’ of leach pipe. Bad idea? https://www.infiltratorwater.com/blog/five-benefits-of-installing-shallow-onsite-wastewater-treatment-systems/
Our 10yr old has gotten ***REALLY*** into mechanical watches & clocks to the point he's on the verge of starting a side gig repairing them. He mentions his hobby to everyone, and a lot of folks have a not-quite-working item sitting around. He's fixed a number of them.
He has had a tough time with an civil war era pocket watch, but was finally able to salvage a compatible part from somewhere, and he got it ticking today. He was so proud, and wants to share with everyone.
Living in the #wetlands of #Polesia (also spelled #Polesie) in #EasternPoland. Surrounded by #bogs and #forests, trying not to fuck up surrounding nature too much.

Luddite working with hi-tech.
#RuralBroadband provider by accident. Starting a small LoRaWAN project to monitor our wetlands. Coding in #Python. Dealing with dirty data, cleaning them when time allows.
#Atheist. I don't *believe* in #science – science is the *only* thing that protects us from belief.
Fuck nazis.
