Naczytałem się dzisiaj sporo o "poprawności politycznej". I Wy zapewne też. Pozwolę sobie więc przypomnieć, co ona oznacza, a nie jak używa jej prawica. Bo chyba ten zwrot został przejęty, i to wrogo:

"Poprawność polityczna ma ma na celu unikanie zwrotów, które mogą być uznawane za obraźliwe lub nacechowane negatywnie."

Proszę, nie wciskajcie ludziom, że w Europie, w 3 dekadzie 21 wieku, banowanie obrzydliwego rasisty to przejaw "poprawności politycznej".

Inspired by @pnorman’s animation, here’s a year of daily OpenStreetMap tile traffic. One frame per UTC day, from the start of September 2022 through end of August 2023. It’s from the public log aggregates, so some low-traffic tiles are left out for (I assume) efficiency and privacy.

Much of the planet is now regularly catching fire, while whole regions are plunged underwater. If climate activists spraying paint on the Brandenburg Gate is what gets you outraged then something is deeply, criminally wrong with your sense of priorities.

The paint will clean off. Our climate is being changed permanently.

Academics: stop being coy about #SciHub and start treating it like basic research infrastructure. If you dont include it in your syllabus already as a normal way to access research, you should start. No more winks and nods, just link directly to it and accept no criticism for doing so from the researchers that necessitate its continued existence by their publishing practices

Najpierw przyslali mi maila, ze zapoznaja sie za sprawa (zamiast od razu napisac, ze nie beda korzystac z moich danych, elo, nara), a teraz...

wyslali kolejnego maila, ze nie moga przeprocesowac mojej prosby bo musial bym im najpierw wyslac dowody, ze faktycznie uzyli moich danych w tym celu 🤣 🤣 🤣

I think I must be trying to make myself feel better about approaching winter. Joni loves walks on the beach in the winter and I admit that I do as well, when I can push myself to go there. She looks a bit miserable here, though, probably because it was over and we were on the way home.

i remember someone mentioning how useful they were to "keep assholes from grabbing and moving me". it was striking how they said "grabbing me", considering it a part of their body.
