@vicgrinberg I'm a cis-gendered man working in IT. On at least 2 occasions I've been asked by my superiors (other men) not to hire a woman candidate cuz "she'll get pregnant and ask for a leave". Other times the sentiment is implicitly expressed.
The bias that women have to face even before making it to the interview could be much worse cuz recruiters (even women) usually try to do basic elimination based on the trend of the panel (even if they don't have it in their selection guidelines).

To put it another way, it's absurd to try to re-terraform the Earth while still continuing to venusform it with all our might.

I can buy my students decent masks & ask them to wear them but I can't make even the ones who DO stop taking them off when they speak.

I can ask them to stay home when they're sick & offer them time to make up work, but I can't do anything about the ones who come back after three days telling me (maskless!) that they've "recovered from COVID".

What do you do when even the ones who TRY to do the right thing get SO MUCH wrong because public health never taught them any better?
