The machine froze up for no reason, I'll probably have to reboot. Hopefully this doesn't damage the machine too much, I spent quite a few hours on this already.

If it’s a power problem I’ll run it in headless mode once I remove everything again

@realcaseyrollins compiling Erlang worked? Only the Erlang doc generation hung the machine? Weird, because linking the C code for language implementations is what could use all the RAM and hang.
Do the older versions of Erlang work? The latest has started to use LLVM internally, which has the reputation of being a beast. Maybe turn it off in the latest release, it might be called native compilation or something.
