@thezerobit @coderCyclist greetings, I am new to ; it makes me wonder about the bigger hype has had, actually.

I too am on SWI-Prolog as it seems comprehensive, but ciao-lang.org looks like a great effort over and above Prolog too.

Do you think Prolog is suited for building better software for personal computing? Simple-for-Prolog things like configuration of apps and desktops, but also photo/video galleries, personal notes/wikis/bookmarks ... self-hosted social networking, etc.

@tetrislife @thezerobit I've never tried Ciao, but it does look interesting. Check out my GitHub repos (link in my profile bio) for some of the #Prolog I've written. I'm sure it could be used for what you suggest, but I haven't tried to. Pick something you're interested in and try it!

@tetrislife @thezerobit @coderCyclist I'm writing a 2d game engine in swi-prolog. the foreign function interface lets you wrap C and C++ library functions pretty easily.

I think that prolog is especially good for personal computing because it is good for parsing, searching, and sorting data. Prolog is really good for standardizing music metadata, for instance.
