I heard this in one of the #GTD podcasts that seems like a good idea:

If there is some decision you cannot make, then rather than agonizing about that decision frequently, park it into a reminder system for whatever time later that you think you need to think about it again - and don’t think about it again till then.

If you trust this reminder system, this can be an effective way to move that thought/decision out of your mind until some time.

@srijan another decision tactic I have heard is, toss a coin and see which side your mind wishes it would fall. This is to actualize individual preferences, and may not help with cold data-driven decisions.

@tetrislife I've tried as well, but for impulsive decisions, I always wish for the impulse side rather than the logical side. It seems like my gut instinct is often at odds with my rational thinking.

Deferring the decision often lets the rational side gain some advantage.
