A nurse once told me that exercising with a cold could result in potentially deadly complications. Sadly, a web search does not confirm this. Also, web searches seem to be increasingly useless. So how would you try to confirm or debunk this idea? If I remember correctly it was related to people exercising with a cold (or an undiagnosed cold-like infection), coming home, feeling tired, going to bed, and never waking up again. Something about the heart? Any cardiologist connections you might have?

@alex an explanation I derived from what I know
- only lungs can jettison CO² from the body
- colds (severe/advanced) impair lung function
- physical activity demands a lot of CO² jettisoning
If the above combination leads to CO² build-up in the blood, I am not sure how long a rest is needed to recover and what can happen in the interim.
