But I'd like a diaspora like mastodon that's easier to deploy bots, as my gut feeling feels like the singularity net approach is...well off.

I wanting to run one instance local only to test out chatbots first. That's mostly because I'm more used to static website generator.

But I thought why not test the decentralized west world like concept at a small scale so I know it actually works.

( I am disillusioned by some aspects of the left, but I'm not that disillusioned. )

Well you're all correct, and that's actually precisely my fear with Eugene's approach.

For those who don't know I got kicked from the main precisely because political things going on I wasn't aware of.

Though it's not always easy to tell, because the default message is the same.

I might go into that on peertube, though it was a struggle to find one not ran by Eugene types.

But the long story is I was kicked for transphobia, despite being trans myself.

But also in the mean time found the privacy features of mastodon lacking compared to Diaspora.

For the most part it is, but then sometimes you'll encounter the odd LGBT instance. That's one I'm on.

For that you don't need to be LGBT, you need to be insane.

He is very brutally anti-trans... gleasanator's views are understandable one that incites ire.. i wont defend him for that... that said he does try to act polite in how he deals with people for whatever little bit thats worth.
