@PawelK I saw that in our news too, and my German buddy told me about it too. :D

@xasherry I don't think that's the real George W Bush account. ;)

One thing that was super common on Mastodon / Fediverse prior to this mass migration was adding image descriptions to help be accessible to our many blind and partially sighted users here. Many people won't boost posts without them.
Please consider adding alt text to your images when you can. :blobcatheart:

@Thelonevirologi What kind of account is this? I see no information in your bio or an introduction. You seem to be autoposting from somewhere?

@PartialGestalt Follow is as usual that everybody knows. They get notified that you're following them. You can read their follower-only posts. And in case they curate their followers, you would have to apply for following and they'd have to approve it first.

Subscribe allows you to 'follow' without needing approval/permission and without informing them. The only thing is that you only get to see their public toots as it's not a real follow, just a way for you to keep up with their public postings.

@lydiaconwell Every server admin can add emojis. So ask your local admin if they would like to add some emojis that you like?

@lucifer @lydiaconwell People tend to do introductions (hashtagged) here. Maybe you can mention something there. It's not required tho. Whatever you fancy. Or not.

For those like me who have a website, this guide from @simoncox will help you get verified on . (Note you need a Wix plan with no ads for this to work!)

@freemo @garmark93 Oh, boosts are only really seen by your followers.

Quote-toots might be seen by the Fediverse at large.

Boosting isn't terribly harmful I'd say. The followers can toggle to not see boosts from you if they get fed up. Or just unfollow.

@sgul Dataview, quite an advanced plugin. If you have some basic SQL commands knowledge it might feel familiar.

But if you're still new to Obsidian.. maybe first get the basic knowledge down pat first.

Until you decide you'd rather want to make a movie database!
Or books database!
Or whatever collection you have!
Then Dataview will come to the rescue. ;)
