I used to think that the #Ikki68 Aurora #MechanicalKeyboard reports “500 mA current required” because it uses a generic USB controller, and the value is hardcoded to the maximum. But I’m starting to think that it actually does draw a lot of power: I’ve now connected it to a USB C port, and it doesn’t seem to randomly disappear anymore…
@utsavratti Thanks, right, that’s a a potential issue—but I’m using silicone only, so I think I can exclude it.
@true_mxp Do you use the internal brass weight in your build? I’ve had issues with power in both my units and I think it’s when the bottom of the PCB comes into contact with the weight. Once I mitigated that, the issues went away.
