I'm still baffled by the fact that working class conservatives exist. How do you look at a system where you have to basically be a millionaire to retire, can't afford a home, can't build wealth because interest rates don't keep up with inflation and people blow up the economy every couple of years, then be like "yes, this is it".
I would imagine it's because while the Dems have a solid economic stance, they keep committing self goals when it comes to cultural issues.
Most everyday working class Americans don't want to deal with people claiming that sex f/m isn't real. Their daughters being forced to share locker rooms with biological boys. Their daughters having to compete in girls sports against biological boys. They don't want to worry about what, other than academic subjects their elementary school age children are being taught in public schools. They don't appreciate people telling them what to say. And they especially are tired of hearing that anytime there's the smallest of disagreement with the Democratic parties platform that they are racist or *-phobic.
There may be less of that happening than they see and hear online or in their local media, but it does exist and the Democratic party is openly supporting it. The Republican party is amplifying to distract from their abysmal economic policies.
I think too many folks think, the Dems have this wonderful economic messaging, how could a poor or working class person object to it? What they don't take into account that cultural issues as just as important, if not more so, for a large block of the voting public.
