"Your home feed is being prepared" says QOTO, and it's not marking my Notifications as having been read, although I read them--the most recent being from 2024. Something is still not quite right here.
Aha, I think I see what happened to QOTO. I don't think we're in QOTO anymore, Toto. This is now social.cleverlibre.org. Still wondering how that came to pass.
@ClaraListensprechen4 has it been stuck on "Your home feed is being prepared" for a long time? For me that only happens the first time I log in in a while, and it goes away after the backend has time to process.
Right now QOTO/cleverlibre seems to have been kind of disconnected from the network, maybe due to the namechange. Posts from the fediverse only show up after unsubscribe/resubscribe.
@volkris Well, it did that when I first logged in, and yes, first time in a long time because previously I kept getting some Page Error, for the longest time. The change-over to CleverLibre is what got me in, and then the feed problem happened. Second time, all I got were toots from 2024.
Disconnected? I believe it! Looks like it's still a work in progress.
Yeah, I think 2024 was the last time the server was fully connected to the rest of the fediverse through follow type interconnections. When they changed domain names it left all of the follows hanging, still looking for the old address.
So it rebuilt your feeds using the latest data it had... which was from 2024.
Until those interconnections are fixed it won't receive much from the rest of the world. Unfollow/follow helps fix the connections, hopefully getting it back online and getting new data into the feeds.

I see, I think. What I posted here did get out to my other accounts (Friendica; mas.to) so there's hope of some sort. Hopefully it'll quickly get back to some sort of normal. Thanks for the info.

If you check the public feed with the globe icon* it's supposed to be the full feed of all public posts cleverlibre is receiving from anywhere.
Well i notice that as I've been messing with this more, and unfollowing/refollowing other accounts, the ones I refollowed are now showing up in that global feed.
First, this confirms that it really is a matter of re-establishing those follows to get this instance back into the network. But second, it shows that so few accounts here have established those following links if mine can be such a notable proportion of the global feed.

Actually, that is what I have been doing--that and checking propagation speed between here and my other accounts. The propagation rate can still be flaky, so the jury's still out on that, especially from there to here. Thanks again for all your help.
