No rush, but I’m looking to move away from GitHub for good. Does anyone have any good suggestions for a server/host for my personal projects that isn’t ripe for #enshittification ? I’m not currently in a position to roll my own hosted instance. No CI/CD needed.
@astatide #Gitea and #Forgejo are ready to be used.
Setup a server is very easy. This will protect your code from whatever happens with GitHub in the future.
The biggest drawback will be the loss of the community around #GitHub, but you can push a mirror from your server to GitHub and get some of the attention back.
This is not perfect, but it is workable.
