Years ago I demoted PHP in my reckoning because I was learning the way. But it's past time I gave PHP a fair shake since a big chunk of my work depends on WordPress. What are some recommendations for learning resources or books about ?

@worldsendless I second phptherightway.com/ . Note that WordPress is pretty much "PHP the wrong way" though - the way the whole thing is structured is more in line with what was common in the early 2000s, and it doesn't use fundamental concepts such as routing. I suggest avoiding WordPress whenever possible.
