when the shooter was a white male we utilized the tragedy to demonize white people as an entity, ostensibly on the basis of being "anti-racist" whilst ironically being racist.

when the shooter became a non-white we utilized the tragedy to demonize gun rights and push for gun control.

in either case we never examine mental health. in the recent shooting in Colorado the suspect is apparently a hallucination-prone paranoid schizophrenic. in the Georgia shooting the suspect is supposedly a religious guilt-ridden sex addict.

we won't examine mental health policy in the country or the effects of our entire socioeconomic model and societal design as it applies to mental health and psychological wellness. just like with the crazy homeless guy urinating on some asian subway passenger: it's RACISM™ we need to fix, not anything else. you have a white mass shooter? it's WHITENESS™ we need to obliterate! non-white shooter? we need GUNCONTROL™! these empty terms that don't really explain or identify or address anything measurable or objective.

we don't want to solve any actual problems, we just want to partake in useless performative gestures that make us feel better

@kino Even Donald Trump seemed to suggest that some of these shootings are down to Mental health issues, It does make a lot of sense that to me.

We need to ensure people get help . We also need to make social changes so that people get help very early on so these problems don't get to the point where people simply crack under what ever pressure they are under.
