Sad thing about #freenode to me is I foolishly never saw this coming. I thought of anything IRC to be a better/libre/decentralized alternative to stuff like Discord but never considered the ramifications of using primarily channels hosted on freenode.
Where will the ##slackware channel go now? 
@swaggboi There is already a ##slackware channel on Libera.Chat.
@josemanuel @usul @zleap thanks, sounds like libera.chat is where we'll likely end up. I'll see about connecting once I get back home to my workstation to configure Hexchat for libera.chat instead of freenode
