This is a BS. If the Commander-in-Chief is a drunk dancing monkey with keys to ATOMIC BOMBS, teetering at the edge of madness, you have a DUTY to prepare to defend the Constitution ABOVE ALL. NO BLIND LOYALTY, ESPECIALLY WITH NUKES. twitter.com/AVindman/status/14

@Fenix If the commander in chief (as in president) gives the order to launch nukes then those with the keys to do so HAVE to follow that order.

.

@zleap If the commander in chief is a raving psychopath those with the keys have a duty NOT to follow that order

@Fenix I agree, however this came up in an article I rad at the end of the trump presidency there was one concern he may order the launch of nukes (as he lost the election)

I got the impression from that there s the issue that not following orders would be something like Treason, (big deal if it leads fo WWIII even if the launch is a counter attack)

But yes, there has / needs to to be some allowance to be able counterman those orders.

Same when Trump said he would bomb Iranian cultural sites, someone in the US military told him very bluntly (apparently) that would not happen.
