It depends on how they are here, An account posting contact info should be enough those who need help can get in touch with them
Granted I can post a link to tem here easily but if that links comes from them it is more official.
They just need to understand how the federated networks work.
Agreed, just having an account on here may help people.
so
is one such charity, if they had say an account @banados@social for example they could post updates, in fact if they enable activity pub or have a blog their account could simply relay the information and we can use rss for that.
It would give them a way to share content as they could even set up a peer tube account and share their videos that way,
Most contact is share via facebook, youtube and very little via decentralised platforms.
Problem is you go to their facebook page and while say banados respect confidentiality, just going to their facebook page probably generates data, metrics etc used for advertising etc,
Maybe this could help make admins jobs easier if they can help people with worries, problems find help.
Lets make less work not more work for admins.
I mean average person will hardly follow these accounts just in case and all posts are shortlived and hard to be found afterwards.
I don't mind official entities to be represented on here but it would be mostly for social aspect, not emergency response.
Also good starting point for resolving any kind of incident for average person is their instance admin or mod team. Admins are not interested in problems with their servers so they are generally helpful and are easily contacted.
