There was a great podcast on #OnContact with #ChrisHedges recently.

The scholar he had on explained why the establishment keep pet #fascist groups — they can steer them towards #progressives when they need. Very troubling.

They are used as a #bulwark, a #proxyForce of the elites without getting their hands dirty.

@dsfgs @zleap @yogthos you seem to have this all completely backwards. the progressives are completely, slavishly obedient to the ruling class (or at least a powerful faction of it) in virtually every way that matters and virtually anyone right of bootlicking ancaps faces censorship from the media, violence and harassment from terrorist groups like antifa or BLM, relentless propaganda against them by the mainstream media (and harassment by "journalists"), aggressive lawfare by prosecutors, get essential services like banking cut off, and are generally excluded from society in every way, punished with every mechanism the regime can safely wield (and that most certainly includes cloudflare; far from supporting "fascists", they practice ideological censorship almost as aggressively as facebook or twitter -- the fact that their leadership were free speech extremists six or seven years ago has no bearing on the facts on the ground today, and cloudflare has certainly *never* to my knowledge in its history shown favoritism to rightists over any other political faction). suggesting that there is any kind of alliance between the globalist neoliberal elite that runs the west and *anyone* whatsoever on the nationalist right is alternate-universe level stuff, and exactly the kind of prolefeed that the elite wants its progressive footsoldiers to believe. i seriously don't understand how people can believe these things unless they live in a bubble that is completely ideologically isolated, with no input except from the teevee, the likes of huffpost, and the consumers of such media, and they have no idea whatsoever what people outside their bubble are saying, doing, thinking, or suffering.

you may not like it, but the reality is that for the last decade or so the liberal-progressive movement has been 110% coopted by the ruling class, and it is no longer anything but a tool for them. you have a rain of constant absurdities like the violent bourgeois-nationalist group BLM calling itself "marxist-leninist," self-proclaimed "socialists" like the jacobin clan or endless crowds of twitter influencers shilling for disastro-capitalist pharmaceutical corps and trying to suppress evidence of how dangerous and ineffective their experimental drugs are, trying to normalize the pedophilia that seems alarmingly typical of our rulers, pushing neolib propaganda against socialist and nationalist countries -- basically the only thing progs haven't completely surrendered on is israel vs. palestine, and even then discussion of israeli war crimes seems to be slowly disappearing. those progressives who could not be coopted either took refuge in more extreme but tiny and utterly irrelevant leftist circles that still care about working people, or became completely demoralized. or they began associating with the nationalist right to various degrees, because while rightists have some distasteful, ignorant, or outright evil beliefs, they are the only significant faction that represents the interests of the working class in any way whatsoever (as opposed to using them as a fig leaf for giving money to billionaires and savaging countries that resist western hegemony, the way scumbags like AOC do), and the only one that offers meaningful opposition to the internationalist billionaire elite -- thus, by far the lesser evil.

chris hedges does some good work and i think he's a pretty admirable person, but he is absolutely an ideologue and his work needs to be understood in that context. there's also the ugly reality that, even if he is aware that the progressive movement has been coopted, there are some things he simply would not be able to talk about without alienating his readership -- glenn greenwald stuck to his principles and his guns, and look where it got him. censored by his own blog, despised by the liberal hordes that used to recognize his heroism when it was ideologically convenient for them, turned into an utter pariah with more respect from the far right and 3rd-pos weirdos like me than his former fanbase. i think a lot of journalists have taken what happened to greenwald and assange as a warning, because the vast majority seem to have transformed into mindless mouthpieces for the bouge.

also btw, please don't use meaningless snarl worlds like "fascist" (or "communist," for that matter) if you want to have a meaningful discussion. in the western context they have been drained of any meaning they might once have had and no longer consistently signify any kind of specific belief system. "natsoc/neo-nazi," "nationalist," "ancap," "supremacist," "objectivist," those are perfectly good terms to describe various kinds of right-wing ideologies (even if "neo-nazi" is being slowly drained of meaning as well). calling someone a "fascist" is as meaningful as calling them a "dickhead".

This left/right thinking is easily muddled. True progressives don't engage in #identityPolitics, which is what you appear to us to be against.

Progressive means protections for the workingClass, affordable healthcare, education that is not constrolled by the corporateState (today we can accurately called that the fascistState, because fascism is the melding of govt will megaCorporations and bigTech which is what we now have).

So yes, we use fascism the proper way.

We agree #BLM and #antifa are indeed coopted by the establishment, they used the #GeorgeFloyd killing to test #autonomousDrone tech and #propaganda techniques that might work on people of the #identityLeft.

They are definately refining their craft in prep for #cashlessSociety protests.

Agree, the identityLeft are actually an indoctrinated, weaponised left that are not actually progressive but authoritarian and almost indistinguishable to the fascist corporateState.

Another term for them are #usefulIdiots. If you talk to them they actually think the #moneyPrinter is great and #inflation (the stealth tax) is actually good for them. These people are #ignorant and #economicallyIlliterate. We saw them growing on #Minds (#cloudflare) before GeorgeFloyd.

While people still use #CAGEFAM systems they will continue to be turned into usefulIdiots.

The imperative moving forward is to educate about CAGEFAM. Nothing will work until the alternative to #oligarchy is widely known.
