Racial issues

Don't get me wrong. I understand that the US had a broad history around race issues.
Nevertheless, as a person of different origin raised in a racially equal society, I believe that addressing "white" people as a whole is just another form of racism.
There is no "white" attitude. There is racist attitude that should be called out whenever possible.

I agree. I was also thinking when reading articles about say a black chemist, why do we put colour first.

Surely that person is a Chemist first then black, i was kinda think i n if we change the order of the words then people see a person in the context of their career / profession.

Or may be we should just say our profession and leave our skin colour out of it, as to me it is not relevant, you should be judged on your research / writing.

If that makes sense.

@zleap Sadly, in the US context it could be relevant to emphasize that a person belongs to a minority group as this makes an achievement more important and empowers other minority group members.
It's a way to fight the imbalance.
It should be relevant but in a context it could be.

I under stand that point, I guess it is just difficult to balance/

I guess i I am used to communities where race / ethnic group etc is less important because we are helping each other.

Time zones are important for arranging meetings to try and include people at a reasonable time for everyone
