everyone who can should host their own git server and upload release tarballs to something like the internet archive

can we perhaps work out a way to help people do that ? perhaps by having some sort of course materials that link to information that actually works
it also makes support easier if we all read from the same instruction sheet.
We can develop this and then offer support via fedi, (give people a reason to join) and other forums
Same goes for running own fedi instances, empower people to run their own,give them the confidence and support network to do so.
