@cully45

Interesting as we have a TV series here in the UK called Holby city (Hospital Drama series), one of the story lines recently centred around child trafficking & sexual abuse.

If this sort of storyline helps one person come forward and seek help then it is worth running.

However storylines such as this, also carry a BBC action line helpline number after the program for anyone affected by the content.

Holby city is not a program made for or aimed at children, so again kinda different as the books being referred to clearly are.

It is a shame we can't get people on fedi who work to help victims, so I will just include the link again.

barnardos.org.uk/

I am sure they could offer some insight in to how we should handle this topic.

@zleap
Yes, thank you. My plan is to first speak with our sheriff on Monday and see what statues/laws Fiarfax is breaking on this, he set up a hotline a few years ago regarding online pedos and children. Even though Fairfax is not his county, I'm sure he would know the best one to speak with.

@cully45 Good idea, do you have any national charities who deal with this.

There is
unicef.org/child-protection

Who may be more useful in the US, as I think Banadoes are just UK based (however they may have branches in other commonwealth countries)

You need to start conversations

I can't comment on these, as they were a result of a duck duck go search

mylittlemoppet.com/books-about

Perhaps these would be a more appropriate alternative.

@zleap
I'd rather go after the school board of Fairfax first with criminal charges under corruption of a minor, etc.

@cully45 +1 to that or at least make them justify their argument and let others put their argument against the use of these books before a judge.

@zleap
An excellent site, I will check to see if those books are also in the school libraries.

@cully45

+1 good I can help with that, it seems we need more resources or at least know how to access these resources.

Not an easy subject to talk about this.

@zleap
I try to keep my rage under wraps and go for the straight reasoned approach. I'll let you know what happens after I speak with Sheriff Messner, hopefully Monday.

@cully45 THat is the best way, keep your cool otherwise you could end up the one in trouble for being aggressive.

@zleap
Thank you for the help, tis the children that need our help most of all.
