A case where the real education came off campus.
SHAME on the counselors for not advising them on which majors are worth the investment ... and which are NOT.
Then, it's their informed choice.
But this airy fairy B.S. about majoring in something like Indian Interpretive Dance, and then graduating with a 40K debt to repay ...
it should be illegal.
I agree, we really should get college ./ uni back to academic subjects, propoer research and open debates, arguments rather than trying to cancel people.
Yeah, i get that impression too, also with face to face teaching surely that depends on subject for some where you need practical work e,g chemistry this is important, but surely for others where you may be mostly reading it could be less important.
We need people with practical skills e.g electricians, builders not people who have graduated with zero understanding of the real world
Indeed, apparently we have newly qualified teachers here in the UK leaving the profession after a short time due to behaviour,
The precise behaviour that a few years earlier when THEY were at school was probably exhibited by their peers, which they backed up, and made teachers to terrifed to deal with as it breaches their rights.
So they are now going back, as teachers to the very environment of self importance and rights to do what you want, and seeing that from the teachers viewpoint.and not liking it.
@zleap
