I was excited to come back to Mastodon, to reconnect with some old faces and newcomers. And tbh, still excited. My original acct eventually grew dark because it was Very White; all the PoC had left. Three guesses why.
I'm seeing a lot of new Black and Brown faces and I am thrilled to see it. And I am saddened that we're *still* dealing with white fragility. But I'm not surprised. It's like clockwork, really.

I am white but see Mastodon as a friendly, culturally, diverse place. All are welcome and treated equally.
There are people posting interesting content, if I am interested I follow and interact..
I hope to see diverse content, photos / videos of different places so we can see connect with more of the world rather than what mainstream social media feeds us based on what their AI THINKS we want.
